Staff and Volunteers Tea

On 13 November we held our annual Staff and Volunteers Tea in the Village Hall. About 40 people were able to attend, enjoying a huge range of delicious savouries and cakes from Jen’s Pantry.

Guest of Honour was the current High Sheriff of Somerset, Rob Beckley, accompanied by Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Somerset, Jennifer Duke.

To see a selection of photos from the event, go to the Staff and Volunteers Tea page.

Further burnishing our Green credentials, many of you will have seen the new line in super-fresh organic local vegetables from Higher Barn Farm just up the road, delivered by Amer each morning at 8.00 and displayed in his custom made vegetable rack.

Though they don’t stay there for long! If you want the best buys you will need to get to the shop early!

Other new lines include: Porlock Bay cider, joining a selection of other local ciders we have available, and we now stock a delicious range of organic breads made from ancient grains by The Common Loaf, a local cottage industry based in the Blackdown Hills, near Dunkeswell. They have been crafting tasty, quality traditional style breads for over 20 years, including sourdough, granola, various grains, crackers, brownies, cookies, muffins and more!

Please note that Kendle Farm are now only delivering on Thursdays, so in order to be sure of getting your supply of high quality, delicious sausages, chops, steaks, mince etc, please ensure you order by Wednesday evenings.
