A fantastic café with indoor and outdoor seating
Our café operates both takeaway and sit-down service, either inside or out on the patio, which offers a lovely view of the recreation ground and trees beyond.
We sell a range of hot drinks, including barista coffee from a local supplier which is regularly voted excellent, various teas and cold drinks from the shop to enjoy with a slice of locally made cake or something savoury, or maybe a light lunch.
Freshly baked cakes and pastries
Our menu changes with the seasons. Recently introduced items include cream teas (in summer) and toasties, and in winter home made soup is usually available.
The café complements the shop, offering a one-stop service to local residents and visitors – a chance to relax with friends or meet new people. Walkers and cyclists call in regularly and people living alone know there will always be a friendly welcome.
The hub
The hub, just inside the café, provides information on a range of locally relevant topics and we plan to develop this further as a venue for small self-help groups to meet and learn.
