This year’s event, as in previous years, was a great success, attended by about forty staff and volunteers. The guest of honour, High Sheriff of Somerset Rob Beckley QPM, emphasised how important is the role of volunteers to the life of communities, and to him personally. His remarks were much appreciated by all those present. Many thanks to Sheila for making it all happen.
The highlight of the afternoon was a surprise presentation to volunteer Sandy – and it certainly came as a surprise to her! – for her contribution to the success of the shop and café. Unfailingly reliable, cheerful and willing to help. Our thanks to Sandy and, as she was quick to point out, she is only one of many who deserve our thanks.
